Notice. New forum software under development. It's going to miss a few functions and look a bit ugly for a while, but I'm working on it full time now as the old forum was too unstable. Couple days, all good. If you notice any issues, please contact me.

Today I received the email I didnt want to get, but knew was coming, earlier than I expected.

Gill died on the 15 May 2009.

Information from owners of property where he lived.

He lived at the base of what is known as the Pyramid ( mountain) just south of Gordonavle and the Mulgrave River.

I will leave it up to make the anouncement on your site.

He will be missed by his family and all of us freedom fighters as he refused to bend to their ficticious system. He would not even accept the pension as it was not paid in cash. I think the health care was also rejected as he was not about to conceede that they owned him like a slave.

Regards
Greg Tudehope

I know he will be sadly missed by many members of this community. His contributions to this site and RE were many and will always be appreciated.

Glenn

I am sorry to see you have left us Gill and may I offer my condolences to all your friends and family.

If we ever need a postcard image your picture beside the ute would have to be top of the list.

Rest in peace.

I want to leave Gill as a active member of the forum, he will always have his place here. I didn't want the forum sending emails to his email address anymore, so I went into his email notify preferences and unticked all the forum posts he had subscribed to. Now that was a difficult thing to do, very heavy on the heart.

You can hear a pin drop in that room.
I will remember his help and enthusiasm with the projects on this board.

RIP Gill

What a shock!

I don't think I can say anymore than has already been said.

We all on this forum develop a friendship, even though we never actually meet. This forum is the club to helping each other gain some form of freedom. The information and being social, though miles apart, has been great. Thanks heaps Gill.

I have a poster on my bedroom wall. It say's "if you love someone, let them know". Gill, it is ashame you can't read these post's.

I would like to move a motion in the boardroom that we all start saying how we appreciate each other before they die. All in favour say..........to someone.

I will start by picking Bruce (downunder)... I really apreciate your posts. I love the way you can crack a joke. I love the way you experiment and discover great things and share the information with everyone, even when things go wrong.

This is not to say I don't appreciate all other members.

This just might help those marginal to stay as members. I miss the posts from Ross W. Though Gordon is very similar. A lot of expertise, muchly appreciated.

Lets see if this thread can become longer than the capacitors, just appreciating each other in some way.

I do not want to lose any friends. I will never be ready for that. So I would stop the time if I could.

I felt a big pain ... kind of fault. In the last discussion with him, I felt that I was understood wrong. I know my english is wrong: my source study was english movies and forums. So is very possible to think something and to write something else.

But I'm glad he saw that his effort was not in vain.
And this is a signal alarm for me.

Wishing Gill's family and friends much strength during the coming hard period of bearing their loss.

Glenn, I very much like the photo you posted. It's not hard to see he was greatly enjoying himself there.

One thing is certain - death will come for each one of us. Gill's passing is a reminder that we live for only a short time and that it can end before we want it to. Before it does, I hope a few more pictures like the one you posted here will have been made of me. Live in the here and now, because it may be over sooner than we'd expect.

Looking at that photo, it seems Gill spent his time well.

Gill is one of five people indirectly connected to me who I know have passed away this last week.

Domwild from the forum who lost his Father in Vienna was one of them.He was kind enough to tell me,as if he needed to tell someone.

I remember the feelings at the loss of my father were similar and I still have components he had made for his beloved boat, that I never took the time to ask what they were designed to do.

My regret is to have not posted developments on my VAWT that Gill could have perused, and if I was lucky enough had his respected opinion make comment on.But I was fortunate enough to be enlightened by his regular postings.

To his family and friends my deepest sympathy.

Anthony.

I'm saddened, too, by the news.

Let's hope his creations continue to capture the energy of the wind for many years to come, and may his friends and family benefit from his legacy for a long time, too.
