Notice. New forum software under development. It's going to miss a few functions and look a bit ugly for a while, but I'm working on it full time now as the old forum was too unstable. Couple days, all good. If you notice any issues, please contact me.

I have a project that uses an MX250 and I need to load the hex file. I have a PicKit3 but always have trouble using it. I'm fairly sure this wont work but if I put the MX250 in a 170 backpack can I program it with the PicProg gui like I do with the 170 chip.

They are in the same family so it should work.

I have successfully programmed a couple of MX270 chips (one for Geoff's ASCII terminal and the other for the USB console version of MMBasic) using pic32prog.exe via an MM2 and TassyJim's MMflash windows front end.

It can also use an Arduino Nano. The MMflash.zip on his site has all the info.
