Use 300-400 CMA (Circular Mil Area) per Amp. I don't fully understand why this value of CMA is used as a guideline, but I will lend my trust to the people that know and start by accepting this rule of thumb. As it is, it even seems to be a bit of a conservative rule, as I have read some comments about it, suggesting even greater liberal use of wire gauge per Amp. CMA is a simple calculation: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Circular_mil Wire Dia^2 or Dia x Dia https://www.eng-tips.com/viewthread.cfm?qid=290662 http://www.zierick.com/pdf/wire.pdf Edited 2021-04-22 09:03 by Kamak |
