There's a brand new looking F&P clothes dryer at my local tip. I don't imagine it would use a smart drive motor, but does anyone know if the motor in it would be useful or even possible to turn into a generator?

Ryan.

The motor will most likely be a small induction motor, one likely fault is a dead start capacitor. Not much use as a generator.

I suspected as much. Thanks for the confirmation Madness. Also found a washing machine motor, but unfortunately it had a disagreement with the excavator they use to keep the metal pile under control. Oh well, free fridge magnets.
