Hi Guys, Great forum. I have a 7 phase F&P motor working ok, my question is: Do I need the earth connection on the motor? The rectified AC delivers Pos and Neg so is the earth required? Regards, Dale. |

Hi Dale How are you using the output of the F&P? Battery charging? Glenn The best time to plant a tree was twenty years ago, the second best time is right now. JAQ |

Does it matter how the output is used? I am charging up capacitors, yes battery charging. Also, with the rewired 7 phase 60s, it is cogless. As I am after more amps, could I rewire it to a 24V system and still remain cogless? I know that amperage is the load demand on the motor. Currently, When I turn the motor by hand I am getting up to approx 35V and easy to move. If I drop this down to between 12-24V, will this motor be easy to turn or will the added current drain be too much to turn? Hope this makes sense. Regards, Dale. |

Rather than going down this path, have you used the improved high power rotors on the type 4 60s wired as 7 phase? Will there be an extra load on the motor to deliver the higher power on the cogless system? -Dale. |
