Notice. New forum software under development. It's going to miss a few functions and look a bit ugly for a while, but I'm working on it full time now as the old forum was too unstable. Couple days, all good. If you notice any issues, please contact me.

This may make some of you cringe but when you need a tower taken down quickly some times it is easier to cut the guy wires, sit back, and remember the moment. Perry http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=m3nj6WDTVws&feature=youtu.be |

I watched that then this tower video and it made me cringe a lot more and really feel sick. Tower The 24 metre tower in my profile pic was enough for me. There are only 10 types of people in the world: those who understand binary, and those who don't. |

This bloke is MAD...fair enough climb a perfectly sound tower but to step out and put all of his weight on that outrigger held on by two pretty small U bolts. He hooked onto the outrigger too so if those two U bolts failed he would have gone with it. May still have been on the safety rope though... Very cool though Foolproof systems do not take into account the ingenuity of fools. |

Brings back memories. Worksafe make it hard to climb towers these days not matter how impractical it is sometimes to get a 100m crane in for a 5min job. Bracket is a bit more solid than u-bolts and he was still clipped to tower. However the way he had it clipped on sideways is really bad and in a fall it would most likely fracture. Those large scaffhold hooks are only rated for vertical loading. |
