if u look at the u tube video where he uses a envi monitor to attach to turbine and measure watts envi monitor on currentcost .com monitors home consumption, he must have it wired to his turbine some way he also has a snser to get his wind speed he says he has a number of inverters and apparently switches up to a bigger inverter ? |

I know it depends on the wind to get rpm per watts so at certain wind sppeds get rpm and get watts so get 2 kw from cindys site at 8 mph (average annual wind speed) this is about 14km/hr like my wind---- present gusting at 24km/hr 2,768 kW hours |

Tom, For god sake please stop looking at or quoting the data from Cindy's site, it has absolutely no relationship with the alternators you have. A part of my involvement with OEM was helping to develop the alternators that are on Cindy's site, and trust me the new models are nothing like the alternator you have, the entire stator from ground up was redesigned, with new dies made to fabricate the laminations the size and stack of laminations has changed, it is far different with the coil windings totally different, giving a much changed output in Kw for a lot lower RPM. We tested many different coil winding configurations to achieve a higher output at a far lower RPM. So please except that the data on Cindy's site has absolutely NOTHING in common with the alternators you have. You have purchased a Voltswagon, and are trying to read the data manual for a BMW and expecting one manual fit all, It is simply not the case. Like any company that manufactures a product, OEM has put a lot of effort into developing a better product over time, and upgrading parts within the product. You have mills that was developed along the way, and was built around a mass produced product that had the stator coils wound to OEM requirements. They are still a good alternator you have, that many here would love to own, but far from the current alternators OEM now produce. OEM is competing in a dog eat dog world of a wind generator market and in the past have rated their mills on the upper limit of power ratings to match the same method of claimed performance that other manufactures use, With credit to OEM they changed their view and down rated their mils output range to better suit average wind conditions, their view with the latest design was to supply a mill that would produce the kw output they claimed in average wind speeds, knowing a customer that had a mill in good wind conditions that produced more power than the rated output would always be a happy customer. Where your mills might produce 2kw in around 75kph wind speed (total guess on wind speed) the latest design would produce the same power output in under half the wind speed. This is why we keep telling you that 1kw would be a realistic output for the mills you have, perhaps they will produce more, but you need to factor in a realistic output value to design around for all the other equipment. Sometimes it just works |

Perhaps we should think outside the square here. Could we post in this topic using the Japanese art of haiku poetry? . It will not be any easier to read, but on the plus side, it will be shorter. Cindy's re-quoted, Cow dung coats rotating blade, Downwind lamented. It's OK, no need to point it out, I know I'm a complete idiot, its been mentioned already...several times....today. I'm confused, no wait... maybe I'm not... |

You may want to think again about being a complete idiot as you have some serious competition here. There are only 10 types of people in the world: those who understand binary, and those who don't. |

plan see if I can get a refund on turbines on the basis that the manufactur will not support the unit i asked cindy for a rpm graph for my model and she said she didn" t have any information at all |

She might give you a refund just to stop you annoying her. There are only 10 types of people in the world: those who understand binary, and those who don't. |
plan see if I can get a refund on turbines on the basis that the manufactur will not support the unit i asked cindy for a rpm graph for my model and she said she didn" t have any information at all
Tom, What did you pay for the mills? Perhaps someone on the forum here will buy them off you if the price is right, as they are really a good alternator, although not quite what you expect to achieve from them, but as a 1kw mill they are a gem of an alternator. To be polite some people simply should not erect windmills if they dont understand all that goes with them ( you are one), without knowing how and what it takes to make everything work reliably. I myself would never have a windmill on a remote location if i was not frequently present daily. The best advice i can give you is invest in more solar systems, to be honest you will get a bigger return for dollars spent over 12 months than the windmills will ever generate. This way you dont have any of the issues with windmills, towers, and controllers or inverters, etc. What you will save on concrete alone will buy quite a few solar panels. Sometimes it just works |
