Here is a wind turbine I found in Hamilton VIC. It is at a museum setup. We go past it all the time but I am yet to stop and have a look at the museum and have a proper look at it. It is in working condition.
It is a Quirks Windlite such as the brochure above.

Ill get a clearer shot in a few weeks when we go down there again.Edited by wallablack 2013-11-22

Hi guys, as regards 12v. versus 32v. Hannan Bros. started making the 32v. plants for two main reasons. Firstly the smaller & more reliable 12v. plants were not suitable for larger farmhouses, station properties, pubs & the like as they suffered from voltage drop making it necassary to have the Freelite & batteries as close to the house as possible. This was undesirable as the plants were noisy in a good breeze & kept people awake at night. As well they were only suitable for lighting and not much else. Secondly, the 32v. household appliances that were becoming available from the U.S. at the time were also a big seller like the "King Dick" vacuum cleaner, radio & washing machines with a petrol engine that had a kick starter & a 32v. generator. One old Lady I know told me that when she did the washing she would run around the house and do the vacuuming as there was extra power. On the big station properties the men would get on horses & disapear for the day leaving the ladies to keep the batteries topped up & make sure they did'nt overcharge & furl the Freelite if the wind blew too hard. Places like the Birdsville Hotel had three Freelites at one time. However, I was told the 12v. direct drive plants outsold the bigger geared ones by 3-1. I have lots of old newspaper ads from the time & will try to upload them. Cheers.

Find Picture and then Right Click>Open With>Paint
Resize>By Percentage....Usually 90% brings it down a bit before you upload.
