Hello All,
I,ve got around to re-configuring the new series Stator and this is what I found of interest.
1. The Enamel insulation on this .6 mm wire is very light and has appeared to come off around some posts during the winding process. So, be carefull on this when doing any mods. I used very small bore heatshrink on all the wires that crossed over any others, solves this problem.

2. I put Vasaline into the setting/removal nylon nut at the front of the new type rotor as I found they are very tight and also the steel rings /spacers are a tight fit ,so be carefull that you don't crack the stator case.

3. I re-configured this Stator into a 3 phase/ 4 pole Series/Parallel unit and from looking at the control panel yesterday afternoon with a very slight breeze I was seeing 15 volts and start-up seemed to be easy. Hoping for some decent wind today,we,'ll hope.

So, I'm hoping that this unit will quickly get to 30 odd volts and delived some current into my 24v battery bank. These new series Stators are .6mm so from that I'm not expecting huge current, but we'll wait and see.

Have fun

Bruce did you get todays southerly?
I came home just before it started and had my mill ticking over at 4 amps (12v). When the front hit it bent my crummy 200L drum blades till they hit the pole!
1555 W grid connect system since Jan 08
both vehicles running on modified, used vege oil.

Hi Rob, No ,but we got some very heavy rain last night,I'm west of the Gold Coast.
The mill seems to be OK , but output results so far have been very disappointing, but we'll have to wait till the westerly or southerly's blow.

I've seen 5 amps into the 24v battery bank and when I switch over to the 12v bank I see about the same -- indicating that there is just not enough power in the available wind . So ,I'll wait and see if a stronger wind kicks it up past that terrible point of charging-that's where the trouble is ,gets to that point ,then falls back .
