Hi, My problem is how to get a uniform pitch for the PVC props which I bought. My suggestion is to use three wooden wedges, where the angle of the wedges is Glenn's recommended pitch of the underside of the props. Then place the wedges underneath the three props on a flat garage floor and check for any airgaps between wedges and the prop undersides and then adjust the pitch via the U-bolts. Is this an idiot-proof solution for me or is there a better one? Will the PVC props bend because of their weight and give me a false reading?? Hi Dom I made up a angle checking tool with a protractor, straight edge, weight and wire, though cotton string would be better. With the nacelle fixed, I did up each blades mounts just enough so I could rotate each blade, then rotated the turbine and checked each blade with the tool. Then I tightened up the u-bolts and checked the angles again. Glenn The best time to plant a tree was twenty years ago, the second best time is right now. JAQ |

Hi Dom, Heres a link on using the 12deg wedge set up for the ALU Blades in an old thread last year, HERE , its at the bottom of the page. The method works very well , I would recommend 12~13deg the blades work very well at that angle . Hi Phil and Glenn, Thanks for the answer and the link (HERE). What is interesting is that I had congratulated the author of the HERE link and must have stored the wedge method possibly in the subconcious as I honestly believe I thought of that method myself. Strange! As they say: "Great minds think alike, fools .............."! Thanks for your method, Glenn. Interesting method you thought of.
