Buggered if I know, I dont think anyone has built one for 24 volts yet. But I think the 7p3p would work out nice. Should be a safe bet. Thats the problem with these new 7 phase conversions, its still all new and there are no real guide lines yet. I do plan to run a few tests and record the results, but thats a few weeks away, too many projects on the go. Hello Guys, I've four of the 7 Phase re-wires . Looks like the best (on the test bench turning by hand) is a toss up between the 7/2 .8 mm ,coming in at only .7 Ohm. The other one is the 7/6 .6 mm ,coming in at 13.5 Ohm . I'm packing up today --will be out of action for 20 days ,so testing will start when I get back. Bruce Bushboy |

trying to turn my 7 phase by hand is bloody hard work, feels like there is a constant load. However put it up and where it was taking 300RPM to charge a battery with a 3 phase rewired f&p it now starts charging at 180rpm. but being so much harder to turn makes me wonder if it will be worth it. Put 6 blades back on to give it a chance, the cogging does appear to be gone but. i have 2 identicle mill heads and trying to spin the 3 phase by hand verses the 7 phase with new rotor is like chalk and cheese, the 3 phase feels so easy to spin after trying the 7 phase. Now, even though I am getting a good voltage at low rpm why does it feel like there is a huge load on it already? , mind you the load still increases substantially when you short out a phase or and try turn it. so is wired somehow correct. ANyway if it turns for you the 7P2P config puts out alot more volts at lower rpm so may be good for 24v. Am thinking it may just mean larger blades that turn slower hence less wear and tear and a quieter more powerful mill. the wind will tell. |

that doesnt sound too good. maybe you have a shorted coil or a wiring error Rifraf? it does sound like a load is dragging it somewhere? |

hi rifraf undo your star connection and try an see if it turns easier,machines get chucked out because of shorted damp stators and blown circuit boards matt down south |

Matt, yep was thinking of doing that to test it out, the stator i rewired to 7 phase 2 pole was a very dirty one that had been wet. However if i put this new rotor onto one of my other nicely spinning 3phase stators it has the same effect of making them feel very loaded , this is without batteries or load attached making me think its the new rotor, yes i know this conflicts with other results :/ Can one of you guys the the new F&P rotor please just screw it on a working 3 phase winding and tell me it really does not make it harder to turn for you?? after next wind will unsolder the stars windings though as is still accessable and not hard to do this. |

hi Rifraf I think the new rotor is designed for 7 phase and it could give those results on a 3 phase wired stator. maybe, lol. you had me a bit worried before, so I finished wiring up my stator to 7 phase and put my neo rotor on it and luckily no extra drag , and I shorted a phase and instant drag, so I guess I am doing something right. |

My only 48 magnet hub is 7 meters up a pole, but I have another one on order, so when it gets here I'll do just that, test it on a 3 phase and 7 phase stator, and compare that to a 56 magnet hub as well. Hi have now got the new rotor, & tried out the new 7 phase 2 pole rewire & very easy to spin by hand ,with plenty of voltage (26 volts) . The cogging factor is drastically reduced. I also tried the new rotor on a 3 phase & the cogging is very strong .Check your wiring , as the 7 phase with the new rotor should be cogless. Good luck AJ |
