Well I dropped into my local F&P agent and ordered a new 48magnet hub. The 7 phase conversion has worked out great on the HAWT, so now I want to convert the Lenz to 7 phase as well. While I was there I asked him if he had any old F&P stuff on the junk pile. He had two complete machines, so a carton of beer changed hands and I brought home the F&P's, plus a old how water system that I'll use for a home made solar water heater, a project for the future.

Both F&P's were 80 series (0.8mm wire), and the motors were in perfect condition, so they where stripped down and the bits stored away. Left over was the stainless drum, I figure they will make neat compost bins with all the ventilation holes, and the steel cases will end up as nesting boxes for the chickens I plan to get in the new year.

I finally got around to giving the PicAxe based charge controller a facial, drew it up in Paint Shop and printed out on some paper, then stuck it to the dull black face plate. Looks a lot better. The display here looks funny due to the fast shutter speed.

Had a visitor in the house last night, the cat and dog were running around going crazy, so I got up and had a look. Found a little bat hanging off the drapes. Opened all the doors and eventally the little fella found his way out, much to the disgust of the cat.

Hi Gimzo
your say is true I figure they will make neat compost bins with all the ventilation holes, and the steel cases will end up as nesting boxes for the chickens I plan to get in the new year.

Hi there,

very curious I am to see when you're
finished what you're gonna build out of those parts.
For now, I'll folow the projects on this site.

Gizmo, what's the best place to add more of my pictures?
Will the questbook do ok?

Marcel.
