Hi This is driving me mad hope someone can shed some light on it. 1 I have built a turbine and generating power what I need to know how do I stop the batteries from receiving to much power i.e regulated to 16 – 17 max volts. It it easier to build a charger controller or purchase one I don’t need anything fancy like it to stop charging at around 13v and dump out to anything I have handy. Spent hours and hours looking for this information Reddbull alan |

Hi Alan Glen has a simple controller that will do your job with a suitable dump load either resistive or GTI. http://www.thebackshed.com/windmill/articles/TL084-Controlle r.asp All the best Bob Foolin Around |

Maybe Gizmo's design is a litt more complex than you need yours to be. There is a much simpler one at Glen Hurd's Dump/Load Controller kit www.ghurd.info. You can e-mail him for more instructions. He sends you the board and the special components, you supply the wire and box to put it in. Steven T. Fahey |

what is the output voltage of the turbine , I have a 24v indiana mototr which connects thorugh a charge controller i bought off ebay in the uk for £40, this is selectable between 12 and 24v ( which is very handy ) aqnd has been reliable so far, although sometimes I just connect the two wires from my turbine to a set up ( 2x12v ) lorry batteries, which gives them an absolute thrashing when its windy , going up to 30v sometimes. i am not interested in giving my hard earned money to corrupt "leaders" to pour down the drain. |

The one I have just a small motor best I have seen it put out so far is 25v. I have it connected to 2 sets of 6, 2v deep cell and 6 car batteries I have a shockly in line. Still have to build the charge controller and a resister to put in line @ about 17v to stop it blowing the batteries. Working on a control panel with v meters in it 1 for incoming power 1 to monitor the batteries id like to put an amp meter in as well but will need some sort of coil to go around the cable to pick up the reading not found out how to do that yet. Next on will be 24v as im told the inverters work better at this voltage Reddbull alan |
