eibike motor Here is a video of why An ebike hub motor is not great for wind generator applcations. I was thinking of putting it to use in the wintertime when I couldn't ride it. I suppose if you belt drove the wheel with a flat belt you might find something with the power to drive it but the power output wouldn't be worth the effort |

I agree E-Bike motor's are best left as motors. I have two, and theyy need about 2,000 RPM to make power. I'm sure that would shorten there life. Small bearing, Small brushes. Just not Good. Ron THE Pirate. stealing wind & solar energy is fun |

well this one would only need 30 rpm or so but is so hard to turn but if you consider the life of a bicycle, I think the pma type might be allright for a small unit like you see a lot of peolple make to test the idea of having a mill. Something to top the batteries up at the camp or on the boat when its sitting at the dock. Or to supplement the rv batteries along with a solar panel just so the genset doesn't have to run. I like peace and quiet when I am in these places. I've sold all my gas powered toys except my work van. Hard to drag all my tools and stock around in a cart.5 more years and then someone else can take over. |

Not great for wind generator but in a sense of considering using the motor from e-bike to generate power during the winter months is not bad at all. :-) |

Yeah I think because the brand of this unit is "E Bike" it is getting mistaken for the general term e bike. I did not think of that when posting. some of the e bike ;in general terms, motors of the pma type, would work well as I said in my last post |
