Notice. New forum software under development. It's going to miss a few functions and look a bit ugly for a while, but I'm working on it full time now as the old forum was too unstable. Couple days, all good. If you notice any issues, please contact me.

Hi guys.

The web site was off air for about 12 hours today. Its back up now, fingers crossed it stays that way. Not sure what the problem was, but I do know the ADSL connection was down at "the other end", not our end. TheBackShed is hosted at the servers where I work, and we also lost the business web sites and mail servers.

So if anyone tried to visit today and just got a "Page could not be found" message, sorry about that. I'm still here.

Yeah there have been a lot of cutbacks in Telstra to prepare for the T3 sell off. I worked for Telstra ( Telecom back then ) for 7 years, back in the 80's, and I could tell you a few things about the way it all works. I remember how busy we were with repairs and maintenance, there were 30 staff at our local exchange then, now there are 2 staff! They must be only fixing faults and not performing any maintenance. Scary
