Hi guys,
I'm currently studying A2 Design and Technology in the uk and I have to design and make a product of my choice, I have to finish around christmas and the design must be aimed for a world conscious of the environment so idealy, the design would be both, nice to look at and functional, maybe connect it to a battery that powers your garden lights. That's my starting point and I've decided that making a windmill would be ideal for me as it plays to my strengths in terms of making.
So I'm at a loss as to where I start designing a windmill. I've done a bit of research and I'm set on making a VAWT, really like the style of the savonoius, so any tips/ideas from you guys would be appreciated.

Thanks.

awesome, in terms of a good balance between aesthetics and energy generating, what kind of ball park should I be looking at? I should say that this would ideally be something that you could have in a medium-large garden.
