Notice. New forum software under development. It's going to miss a few functions and look a bit ugly for a while, but I'm working on it full time now as the old forum was too unstable. Couple days, all good. If you notice any issues, please contact me.

I'll look into the 28X2 to see if it should work. Just a bit tied up at the moment, give me a couple of days. The PIC16F873A wont work, its not programmed with the PicAxe boot loader. Glenn The best time to plant a tree was twenty years ago, the second best time is right now. JAQ |

Hello Glen, I was able to program a PICAXE-28X1 (PIC16F886) successfully with your version 1 code. In order to use the PICAXE-28X2 (PIC18F25K22) I use the PICAXE wizard in the programming editor to X2 conversion. I do have a problem with the nap command (syntax errors). If I change the nap command to doze I was able to program X2 chip, but I am unsure about the duration of the doze, since for example nap 7 seems to be shorter than doze 7 and I am not sure if doze will be the correct command. Version 2 code you must make sure the LCD is a 20x2 and not a 16x2 as the schematic shows. I missed that point although it was mention on the web page :). Thanks again Glen. Sudesh |

I now have a 20x2 LCD but cant get the version 2 code to work on the chip. Version 1 works fine. I am unable to find the PICAXE-28X chip anywhere. Is there a possibility that some one can dump their picaxe chip with the version 2 code and I can try writing that hex code to my PIC16F873A chip and see if that will work? or someone with a revolution programmer convert the version 2 code using the wizard in the program editor. Please help me. Thank you. Sudesh |
