Hi

after finishing the test at the Lg and F&P60DC I am going to use the F&P 60DC for a 12 volt wind generator and had to rewired the stator all in parrallel.
I came up with this wiring setup ( delta only) , nearly foolproof, see pic.
This can be used as well on the 42 pole stator.
I will test the power output on this one later and see if there is a difference compared to measuring only one phase and triple the measured output.

I need to coat the wiring to protect it against salty enviroment:
Any suggestions what to use or not to use( like: does epoxy resin effect the enamel coating of the copper wiring ?)
Epoxy or polyester resin, primer or just normal varnish, or is there something better out there?

Harald, epoxy resin is OK but its a bit permanent. I dunno about polyester resin, would not trust that stuff for anything else but fiberglass layups.
I used the proper enameled wiring varnish, available in a small tin from RS components, its air drying.
You could also use liquid electrical tape,which has the advantage of being removable if you later want to change the connections.
For the counter rotating F&P machine I was experiencing with I used epoxy resin where I needed mechanical strength to resist the centrifugal forces on the wire links and liquid electrical tape at the solder joints. The coils were saturated with the wiring varnish. Edited by Tinker 2009-06-15

How did this rewire do for You in Delta.... I'm also thinking of wiring the 36 in
Delta as suggested in a nother Post . Thanks for Rely

I'm guessing its going to make Heaps of amps
Varnish is available at bunnings called something like copper wire varnish.
I did mine with that bbut lots of guys dont bother doing anything.

After a year I took mine down and although there is a little corrosion on the finger ends they still look like the day I installed them, hence for $20 I'd do it as lots of work went into that re-wire.

How does it go when you spin it up? this is the crucial test, if you made a mistake it wont spin up very easily.

I must say I avoided this idea as I figured it was lots of work and went the 100S as the re-wire took no time at all as I didnt have to do anything! for 48V
