Notice. New forum software under development. It's going to miss a few functions and look a bit ugly for a while, but I'm working on it full time now as the old forum was too unstable. Couple days, all good. If you notice any issues, please contact me.

This is not a new idea, but I have always been intrigued by those HDD clocks on YouTube. Apparently, they are not that hard to make, but you need a reasonably zippy MCU. I asked about this on the PICAXE forums a few years ago, but the general consensus was that PICAXE is not fast enough. With the MM's zippy 40MHz speed, perhaps even at full throttle at 48MHz, would a MM-controlled HDD clock be possible do you think? HDD Clock demo Smoke makes things work. Grogs, Lou, Now they are cool, I bet it would be difficult to do with BASIC though. I am happy to be proven wrong though. Regards, Mick Mick's uMite Stuff can be found >>> HERE (Kindly hosted by Dontronics) <<< |
