I have the small board about 70mm *70mm. There is a usb connector for my laptop on the board. Plugging the usb cable into my laptop I get a 'ding' from my computer which indicates that the computer recognises the device. The light is on on the board. I then open putty under com3 and get the putty screen. Using any other number for com and I get the reply from putty that they cannot connect. So it would appear that I have a connection to my maximite. The problem is all I am getting is a black putty screen with a small green rectangle in the top left corner. There is no prompt. I have tried pressing the enter button on my computer and also tried pressing a few keys on the laptop. None of this works. Pressing ctrl C also doesn't work. Can anybody suggest what the trouble might be please? |

Try with: Speed: 57600 Flow Control: None Try accessing that COM3 before plugging in the MaxiMite - maybe it's a different peripheral in your computer. |

Peter, you need to be musc more descriptive and specific in explaining what your components are, which Maximite you have etc. So what is the 70mm x 70mm board? |

Most laptops have a built in modem which is often COM3 With the Maximite, the serial speed shouldn't matter. What version of Windows are you running? Did you install the driver for the Maximite? Check with Device Manager to see if it has installed properly and what port number has been allocated. I think Putty doesn't allow for the high numbered serial ports. Try with TeraTerm (or MMedit) if your Maximite port is a high number. Jim VK7JH MMedit MMBasic Help |
