Notice. New forum software under development. It's going to miss a few functions and look a bit ugly for a while, but I'm working on it full time now as the old forum was too unstable. Couple days, all good. If you notice any issues, please contact me.

MESSAGE NOT UNDERSTOOD?

configuration:
MMEDIT v3.4.5 OS Ver. 5:01
Micromite 44-pin - USB-Link Version 4.05
Windows XP ServicePack3

Tested on different PC with XP and Windows7, all the same problem, only with VISTA function ok.

The connection via USB-Link using a terminal program works ok, ie hardware OK ..

When calling a MMCHAT from the MMEDIT first comes the MMCAT window, then the window Maximite-PROGRESS:
MicroMite version V4.5. detected
Blocks: 1
XMODEM RECEIVS

and immediately after the ERROR WINDOW
Error 0 MessageNotUnderstood

What am I doing wrong, can someone help me?

With thanks.

The error message usually happens when MMEdit is not happy with the serial port.

It looks like you are pressing the 'running man' button to load and run your program.

Can you try opening the file manager window instead and copy your program to the MicroMite that way?

Also, does a normal Chat connection work OK? (Terminal without loading programs by XMODEM)

Instead of using XMODEM, loading from a normal chat window uses AUTOLOAD to transfer your program. If the problem is a timing issue, AUTOLOAD might work..

You could also try different baud rates. I did most of my testing at 38400 but did check faster speeds as well.

I am not familiar with USB-Link. Can you tell me what it is so I can investigate.
I am away from home for a week so I will be slow to make any changes.

Jim
