Bob Parker, and old friend of mine from the Radio TV & Hobbies magazine days, just asked me if I remember this as a magazine project from that publication from the 1960s

I don't recall it, but felt because of the demographics of this group, someone may remember:

My old man had one exactly like that when I was a kid.
But No idea what , how , when he made it.

it is possible the construction article may have been borrow from another (overseas) magazine of the time. i has thought that google maintained an archive of old magazines, but can't find it at the moment.

so it looks like you might be after the issues from June to August, 1963. the gentleman from the first link might well be able to furnish photocopies.
