After thinking about it a long time i have choosen for the Rigol DS2xxx series.
Based on reading the specs and the help of viewing some youtube movies.
And of course i have owned the previous 50Mhz from Rigol which is a very capable scope.
Now that more Mhzs are needed i want to upgrade.
Unfortunatley no hands on experience with the new Rigol models and they are not easy to find in Thailand. So i just take the leap of faith based on the good experience with the previous model.

Just a few of the tens of videos i have looked at to help make a decision.

Instek first impression:

Rigol comparison:

I use a Saleae Logic analyzer (spi, serial etc decoder), so i don't need that in a scope. The original one because they deserved it for such a nice product.

TZ, did you consider upgrading your firmware to 100mhz ? It may work with your model.
Worst case, you stuff your scope, but you were considing getting a new one anyway.

Also, FWIW, 100Mhz Rigol scopes are available from DX. US $514.20, but temporarily out of stock.

Lads,

2 Options

50Mhz ... $321US Inc shipping

Rigol 1052E

100MHz $460US Inc shipping

Rigol 1102E

Along with all of the usual caveats... You will need to research that it is ok to work with AUS 230V power (I assume it will)

Regards,

Mick

@James,
I already upgraded it.

The newer model has a bigger screen and more importantly more memory.
I find myself catching data and studying it often and more memory will make my life a lot simpler.

With the new 32MZ chips arriving soon 100Mhz might not be enough so i am considering a 200Mhz. 4 channels is a luxury i don't need.... yet.

Today i got my Rigol DS2102, personally delivered by the manager from Rigol Thailand because he wanted to make sure i would have it quickly.
It is worth to mention because i never experienced that before.
We talked about what we do and found many similarities. Always nice to meet people who take good care of their business and customers. When i need more equipment he will be the first one i call.

The scope works beautifully and as i am already familiar with the older model getting used to it will be quick.
I got it for 44000 baht which is about 1450 US$. On many websites and ebay they can be found for around 1200US$ but then i had to take care of the import. Servicing and warranty issues would be very difficult so i was very happy i found a local dealer.
I always prefer to buy local.
