Notice. New forum software under development. It's going to miss a few functions and look a bit ugly for a while, but I'm working on it full time now as the old forum was too unstable. Couple days, all good. If you notice any issues, please contact me.

Looked everywhere, but is there a way to have the newest post appear at the top instead of the bottom, so one doesn't have to scroll down to the bottom to read the latest post. Paul. "It is better to be ignorant and ask a stupid question than to be plain Stupid and not ask at all" |

I thought all posts had the latest at the top then going down in date and time order with the oldest at the bottom of the list, or thats how it works on my WIN7 machine and every other computer incl a tablet. regards cliff Cliff |

I have the same as Paul, newest last. However, when I go to the WebWiz who are the forum hosts and look up their info page about the forum, part of the info is: General Features
Topics •Topic display options - Sort by Topics, Topic Starter, Replies, Views, Post Date, etc. •Active Topics - Topics containing new posts since last visit or other user defined period •Un-answered Topics - Topics with no replies since last visit or defined period •Forum and Topic Subscriptions (optional notification by RSS Feeds or email) •Forum and Topic, New Post Icon with number of unread posts using mouse over •Last Unread Post Icon - Takes you directly to the last unread post in the topic (updated in real-time) It states the ability to sort by Posting Date. http://www.webwiz.co.uk/web-wiz-forums/forum-features.htm |

The 'END' key doesn't work and I can't find any 'Last Unread Post' icon. Paul. "It is better to be ignorant and ask a stupid question than to be plain Stupid and not ask at all" |

Go back one step to the list of threads in the Microcontroller Projects forum, find the thread of interest and click on the arrow on the far right next to the name of the last poster. Sorry, that should read thread starter not last poster. Crap, I had it right first time. |

I think you guys are a little confused. On the index page ( http://www.thebackshed.com/forum/forum_topics.asp ) the latest new thread is at the top. On the thread page ( http://www.thebackshed.com/forum/forum_posts.asp ), the latest post in that thread is at the bottom. Makes sense, you read down a page, so the last post is at the bottom. I'm not aware of a "Last Unread Post" function on this version of the forum software. "Web Wiz Forums" are the guys who originally wrote this forum software, but its hosted by me on my domain ( www.thebackshed.com ). We are running version 7.8, which was free at the time, but outdated many years ago, so any new features on the latest version 10.14 wont be available on this forum. The reason this forum has not been updated is because I've modified the software in many ways since I first installed it, and to update would overwrite all my handywork. My modifications include features requested by forum members over the years, and nice touches like automatic image resizing, watermarks, etc, which are not available on the latest version of Webwiz. Sorry, scrub my post, mine come out the way Gizmo describes. Topics list has latest update at the top; latest post within a topic at the bottom. Cheers, Hugh |
