Hi Guys,

Guess this one might be in TassieJim's court. When double clicking on a .bas file from within Win Explorer (Win 7 Pro 64), I get a "MMEdit.TKN missing" error. MMEdit itself ( a fantastic program) works fine.

Can't figure out what is wrong? I have .BAS associated with MMEdit but do I need to put a copy of MMEdit.TKN somewhere into the Windows folder/sub-folders?

Cheers,
Doug.

I am not sure that there is a simple solution for this problem.
When you associate files, MM Edit starts with the wrong startup directory which is why it cannot find the tkn file. It starts with the BAS file directory instead.

One messy way is to create a batch file and CD to the application folder before starting MMEdit. Not a method I like for general use.

I will do some more research.

You might like to try this small update.
It is not an official release and needs a bit more testing.
Unzip the TKN file and replace the original in the MMEDit application.
You might/should have to argue with the W7 protection to do this.

All going well, you should be able to drag a file and drop it onto the desktop shortcut to open it.

This version also has a recent files list which helps to compensate for the lack of associations.

Jim

I might be a while finishing off the update.
Yesterday morning (very early) the nursing home rang to tell us that the Mother in Law had broken her hip.
All morning in emergency and the afternoon in a ward waiting for the operation.

Tomorrow the wife goes in for her operation.
At a different hospital of course...

For the next week or so I will be going between the two hospitals as a professional visitor.
It will be worse when the wife comes home.

Appreciate your assistance Jim, all the best with your family and don't concern yourself with us, family comes first.

Regards, Doug.
