OK this is taking longer than I want it to take to get machined case parts in.

I think I'll experiment on putting holes in a box.

There is a chance that the box will look like it was attacked by an angry drunk monkey with a machine gun.

But if it ends up looking reasonable, would anyone buy these prototype boxes? I guess I'm taking an informal survey.

Would you be interested in a prototype (likely imperfect) CGCOLORMAX1 enclosure?Edited by CircuitGizmos 2012-11-15

I don't need a box but I would like to see the output from a drunk monkey with a machine gun.

Excellent imagery!

Yeah. I could live with a prototype as long as it keeps the dust out and it doesn't foul connectors. Even an angry drunk monkey with a machine gun could make a better case than I could.

Thanks

James

Sounds good to me..! I allready have an order in for the new colorMAX board... and a box would be a good addition. I am just running the two 26 pin IDC ribbons over to a vector board to connect up to.. The case would keep the "spare parts" and lead cut-offs from possably shorting something out on the new board. (my workbench is a jungle at times)...

Thanks for offering..!

Hi CG, I'd be interested to go with my current CGCOLORMAX1 board order. I reckon I could do better than a drunk, angry monkey myself though - probably just ordinary gun toting monkey capability!

Maybe you could you do a (sticky?) paper template that could be sent out with un-attacked boxes? As long as an accurate measurement from the base of the box (outside) to some reference on the template was marked (probably a reference from one of the sides too) then I think most of us could do a reasonable job using a drill and file.

If so, should we order a plain box now to be sent out with the boards - or have the boards been shipped already?

All orders have been shipped.

I should have thought about this weeks ago and made CGYOUDRILLTHEDARNTHING available.

I'll let you know how I come along.

Rob,

I like the mounting holes on the side of the case, makes it easy for putting the CMM to work.

Regards,

Mick

EDIT ***

Are the mounting lugs on both ends or just the one? It looks like both (two cases) but the pic doesnt show both ends in the same view.

Nice case CG.

No stress my friend, I'm easily pleased... mostly!

Keep up the good work. I'm sure to be happy with what
you can deliver.

I'm also like the side mounting holes.

Regards Russ.

Gentelmen...

Well pleased with the look of this box.. The recessed area on the top just begs for one of those custom printed silver labels explaining to contents inside... (nice)

I would like to know the source of these..! Perfect for the MM-EIS project

Nice peice of kit, this one...

BTW.... get the monkey an ale...
