'Terminator' arm is world's most advanced prosthetic limb Found this video on http://www.overclockers.com.au/ and I'm sure it will be of interest to this group: Here's an amazing terminator-like bionic arm. The new bebionic3 myoelectric hand, which is also made from aluminium and alloy knuckles, moves like a real human limb by responding to Nigel's muscle twitches. Incredibly, the robotic arm is so sensitive it means the father-of-one can touch type on a computer keyboard, peel vegetables, and even dress himself for the first time in six years. Not to minimize the importance of this revolutionary device... but it's got 8 preset patterns controlled by two muscles. You certainly can't touch type with it. This stuff has been around for quite a long time, I'm surprised it's taken so long to do anything with the tech. > Which sensors/electrodes we can use to read the bio-currents? Most of the papers I've read use a instrumentation amplifier wired in a differential mode fed into an ADC. With that setup you get a one period sine wave as the nerve impulse travels from the first to second input. That's the easiest way to filter the noisy bio-voltages you get when connected to the skin. -Jake |

This is one of my favorite robot arm videos. Doing this with a simple stack of Servo motors and brackets seems very possible with a Maximite if you had the image already on the SD card.
