Hi all, I have been looking in vain for kits for the Colour Maximite. Aside from the one that CircuitGizmos sells, are there no other kits available? Regards, Bob Devries Dalby, QLD, Australia |

Just a point of clarification - the CGCOLORMAX1 is fully assembled. Not a kit. Micromites and Maximites! - Beginning Maximite |

Looks like Jaycar will not be selling the Colour Maximite kit. Here's their email in response to my query: regards, Bob Devries Dalby, QLD, Australia |

$94 (AUS?) ($97 USD) for the kit vs. $49 (USD) assembled from CircuitGizmos. I should really charge more. (Note that the ColorMax has serial circuitry and a sea of holes for prototyping.) Micromites and Maximites! - Beginning Maximite |

Wow! It looks like you can buy a mini-max from Jaycar or a ColorMax from CG for the same $49. So hard to decide. The mini-max has these additional features: Lack of power supply Lack of SD card Lack of battery backed clock circuit Lack of keyboard connector Lack of color VGA connector Lack of dual RS232 drivers Lack of RS485 driver Lack of Arduino shield area Lack of sea-of-holes prototyping area Heh! lol 1 : 0 for CircuitGizmos Can you tell us when it will be available ? I can't wait to get a real one (and Nick probably too ...) Cheers. Darth. Theory is when we know everything but nothing work ... Practice is when everything work but no one know why ;) |

But the biggest difference is that Altronics & Jaycar (as well as Dontronics, RS Components, MicroChip and lots of other reputable companies) all ship to my country, while CircuitGizmos continues to refuse to do so. I really get sick of seeing so much self-promotion (spam) here from CircuitGizmos when he refuses to sell to all forum members equally. |

Wow, Art. My apologies to you if you perceive my postings as spam. I was a member here before I decided to manufacture and supply the product. I had an interest in the Maximite and the postings here convinced me to make my own flavor. As far as the Philippines is concerned, I will again visit this restriction with my product shipper. Your negative comment gives me little incentive to press them very hard, though. Micromites and Maximites! - Beginning Maximite |
