Notice. New forum software under development. It's going to miss a few functions and look a bit ugly for a while, but I'm working on it full time now as the old forum was too unstable. Couple days, all good. If you notice any issues, please contact me.

There seems to be a lot of people wanting to send fast pulses to devices using the `mite but there are obvious limitations to the capability to do this in an interpretive basic. Now We have a video signal that is generated to drive VGA displays (using DMA??)... if MM/DMBasic was able to change `video' settings (to obvious out of range for display) to be able to be `infinitly' `adjustable' could we then create rapid pulses (when required) by using the Video output of the `mite this could be created by setting or clearing the required `pixels' to create the said pulse... I am not a programmer, in fact I would say I am not a programmers @$$hole but some would disagree with me and say yes I am.. So I do not know how feasible this would be or not, just a glimmer of an idea and maybe someone smarter than me can see an oportunity here... Maybe it should be setup as an `on call' rapid bit stream that can be called when required.. Someting like VID_DISABLE ' stop the Video connector being used for VGA Pulse_out xxx,yyy ' not sure of best format but setup a stream of pulses to be sent using this mode Of course Video out would be compromised by doing this but we would still have USB console mode. Am I crazy, well we all know I am but is it a possibility without too much alteration to the `mite firmware. Regards, Mick Mick's uMite Stuff can be found >>> HERE (Kindly hosted by Dontronics) <<< |
