If I supply the +5V to the minimite on the header pin, does it convert it down to 3.3V for the pic32 or do I need to supply 3.3V as well?

IC2 LM1117 is the 3.3v Regulator that creates the 3.3v feed to PIC32 from the 5v Rail
on original Maximite
On the Mini you have to supply 3.3v from external source
(use a small circuit based on the section around the IC2 from original circuit)
