New MMIDE2.

Not a lot of descriptive text coming from me, just mainly pictures. I hope for another update soon (2.1) that will get the VT100 implemented. That has been a thorn in my side as the tool I use fights against me.

MMIDE Version 2.0

Your work looks very interesting. Does the IDE depend on particular I/O numbers being used for certain purposes e.g. LCD data lines or specific pins for Com1 & 2.?
As we all know things are tight on the number of 5 & 3.3 volt I/O lines available overall but that is just a fact of life with the current development of MM but will hopefully eventually lead to a hardware upgrade still under the MM banner but with input by Geoff.
Yes excellent alternatives are available & continue to be developed which is the obvious way to go.

Yes, the LCD setup does depend on specific port/line use. I'll have to dig up my notes in a few hours and put that info in this thread.

Otherwise the blinking, etc, are pretty flexible. Analog "voltmeter" only works for the analog lines.

MMIDE has come a long way.
I like the Direct I/O page and will put it to good use when I am playing with the CGMMSTICK's I just ordered!

Have you got CGMMSTICK (or original MM) working with your Home Domination product so Home Domination can be the GUI etc?

Not being picky but since the USA is not noted for cheap postage and some times the price of very affordable items like the CGMMSTICK can quickly become very uneconomical.

I must admit to a feeling of fairly good value to get it here to Australia so I checked some other postage rates for comparison ...

$0 for China
$13.95 for Australia, UK, Canada
$5000.00 for Hong Kong & Antarctica

I'm feeling a bit diddled

that the Chinese don't pay any P&H ... lucky buggers ... but then they usually post a lot of things for free and I suppose you're just returning the favour.

The sig was a goof on my part, but by the time I noticed it, the cat was out of the bag. I put the sig in place, then removed it (I thought I did).

They are available for ordering right now and will ship from here (U.S.) by Wednesday (Mon/Tue vacation days).

HomeDomination will likely be modified for these new boards. That software belongs to StrandControls (not me).

I run Windows 7 and have the text size larger than default so I can still read it on my monitor. Why are the fonts so small on the widescreens they sell us these days? The good old 4:3 ratio was much better for viewing documents wasn't it? I don't watch movies on my computer so not really interested in widescreen.

Anyway, this is the option I use:

Control Panel | Display Settings | Medium - 125%

And this is what it looks like:

Great utility; just a small issue: the buttons don't show all the text with the larger fonts set.

Very interested in a few of your CGMMSticks too. Trouble is I only just bought another 4 x Maximites from Don, and electronics is a swear word with my wife at the moment - I've been a bit preoccupied with it lately!

This first draft of the documentation is excellent.
Interesting the mention of MM Basic 3.0, sounds like you have some pre-release info from Geoff.
Cost of $29.99 is fine but shipping costs from 1 - 4 units to Australia is $13.95. will you be intending an Australian distributor to soften te freight cost?

I have take a look on your 'beginning Maximte' PDF , it's well done !
But like in some other doc's i found the same 'error'

WHILE expression ,statements. WEND
WHILE initiates a WHILE-WEND loop. The loop ends with WEND, and execution
reiterates through the loop as long as the 'expression' is true.
This construct is included for Microsoft compatibility. New programs should use the DO ... LOOP construct.

The normal "DO ... LOOP until something" command execute at least one time
the code inserted in the block
The normal "While something ... Wend" or "Do While something ... Wend" will
execute the code into the block only if the "Something" is True.
It's a big difference to explain to not misuse the command

Hi Gizmos
That fixed the problem of the text in the various boxes, I to was using the 125% font size for my tired eyes.
I see the pin allocation has changed from page 90 of the manual for the vga outputs, not that I suppose it matters to me as I dont have CGMMSTICK, but could cause problems to someone trying to interface a vga monitor.

I tried opening the Mac version of 2.0b in Lion and was rewarded with the following error message:
"An exception of class OutOfBoundsException was not handled. The application must shut down."
(MacPro, 8 Gb RAM). Closing down the other eight applications I had running didn't help.

Same thing happened on my Mac flaptop using Snow Leopard.

Centrex: The document and web site need to be updated for the right pin-out.

Bruce: I might have to remove the Mac version as I can't test it. That error sounds like it is not finding any serial ports. Edited by CircuitGizmos 2012-01-07
