Notice. New forum software under development. It's going to miss a few functions and look a bit ugly for a while, but I'm working on it full time now as the old forum was too unstable. Couple days, all good. If you notice any issues, please contact me.

I got my sound back last update
now where the F***** is the Composite VIDEO

The Duinomite Documentation states Composite Video is output automatically if no VGA monitor attached.
Sorry guys No it doesn't
Duinomite with Daughter board attached - NOTHING
Duinomite MEGA with built-in RCA - Nothing

Even checked the Maximite SM1 from Dontronics - and yes I used the Video Select and video Out headers

Signal detected but Not "Sync"ing.

Monitors used
14" IDEAL Brand (Huawai) Colour TV with Composite input
20" Inch Viewsonic Colour monitor with Composite input.
50" LG PLASMA TV with composite input
all the above checked with other devices outputing composite video and all worked perfectly

Hi Dj,

First do a test for me..

when you dont get sync, press the RESET momentarilly, I bet it works..

If that is the case, that bug was fixed a version (maybe a beta) or 2 ago, download the latest Version and flash it in using bootloader.exe and it should be ok...

You get the added advantage of the HELP command as well (see Bryans thread on that one)

It was caused by the complex power supply used on the DM and the Mega (the simple Power supply on the mini was ok) ..

A few ms delay on powerup was all that was needed to fix that one...

Sorry I dont have the link handy as I am at work and about to starting shutting things down but I am sure you will find it easy enough..

Regards,

Mick

David, you have the latest firmware?

http://www.themaximitecomputer.com/max/Programs/index.php?di r=Hardware%2FDontronics%2FOlimex%2FDownload+Files%2F

I have tested both of these boards in the last few days with the latest firmware, and both are OK.

You have the VGA unplugged when you power up?

Ken had a problem with the power supply settling down before he read the status of the VGA monitor lead, so if you are between firmware updates, it may be the problem.

We have only just started the DuinoMite Newsletter, so we can keep everybody in sync with firmware, but as this only took place yesterday, it will be announced in future when any new firmware is made available.

Sorry if you got caught out.

Cheers Don...

Hardly, (well actually he may have, you have to ask Him that one)

You can see a difference with Ken's updates...

I have never seen any difference with Adobe and Firefox only ever changes things... not make it better.

Anyway as Don said, you got a pretty prompt answer.

Even major companies have updates to their products like mother boards etc..

Mick

Hi Dj,

Jeez you really are picky...

I hope you dont design something =8-)

I have already answered that question with my first answer

Oh PS. Just in case you have a thin skin, the above statement is meant as a friendly jab in the ribs.

Yes I am picky
I just want the things to work, I really LOVE the duinomite/maxiMite boards (I have 6), if I didn't I wouldn't care less if they worked or not.

Every time there is an update, the firmware SHOULD not break some feature that was working previously. The complex power supply used on the DM and the Mega was there when the FIRMware worked previously.

Sort of defeats updates if there needs to be an update to fix the last update which fixed the previous update.
Microsoft does enough of that!

As for design, I am designing some things for the Maximite/DuinoMite
And they will be tested almost too destruction and Bullet-proof BEFORE release.
My engineering background would not have it any other way.

You can call me David BTW and I don't have a real thin skin.

DON / OLIMEX / Ken
i extend my previous offer , I have 5(soon 3 more ) variants of the Maximite/Duinomite design
If you need a Beta/Pre-release tester of new Firmware send it to me.
I can test ALL the features and report back unbiased and fair assessment of the changes so these types of glitches do not occur in the future.

Again ...

@Ken
Please, with each release of any "new updated firmware" state
what has been changed and any known outstanding issues and
bug reports. In fact, have a revision history so users would
able to track the firmware revisions and any known issues.

@Ken
Just curious, why two releases 2 days apart?

Free Time :)
ken

Hmmm ... ??? Please slow down and thoroughly test your releases or
have DJ check your release before hand! Edited by DuinoMiteMegaAn 2011-12-15

Thanks David, will do.
Anyone else want to be on the Pre-release team?

Cheers Don...
