MM Edit has had an update. For those who missed it the first time around, MM Edit lets you write programs without line numbers on your PC before automatically adding the line numbers and transferring the program to your Maximite. As well as adding the required changes for Comms and I2C code lines, I have added the ability to view the Maximite output in HEX format. Useful for debugging program output. The best new feature is a File Manager. Using XMODEM you can transfer files back and forth between the Maximite and your PC with ease. To do the file transfers, you need a version of MMBasic that has XMODEM - Version 2.7 or newer.

Hi Jim, I hadn't seen it before so I downloaded it last night and had quick play with it. No problems at at with seeing the DM and the file transfer from the DM worked a treat. Now I did see one thing on the PC side it would only let me open open a folder down one level. Example I have a folder called maximite and a sub folder called basic files, the first folder expanded ok but no way would it open the basic folder. Eh only a small glitch but otherwise it does look the goods. You've done well mate..... Regards Bryan |

Sorry about that Bryan. I made a silly error that caused bad things for folders with spaces it the name. An updated version is available for download. There is no need to uninstall the earlier version, just install over the top. Jim VK7JH MMedit MMBasic Help |

Hi Jim, I installed MM Edit on my XP computer and the first time I used it all worked OK, since then when I try to load a file the program locks up. I tried to uninstall it and re-install but it did not completely remove all components and I got a message to say to remove manually. The computer will not let me do this and it wont let me re-install it. How do I overcome this?. I found the easiest way to transfer files from PC to Maximite was to write to the SD Card. Fist thing to fix is the uninstall problem. When a program crashes, it can close it's windows but remain running in the background. I expect this is what happened to you. You can either start 'task manager' (right click on the task bar) and look for MMedit.exe under 'Processes' and end the process or, reboot the computer. Rebooting is easiest. You should then be able to reinstall MMedit or manually delete the MMedit files. On XP the program files are installed into: C:\Program Files\CCom\MMedit and your data files are in: C:\Documents and Settings\Jim\Local Settings\Application Data\CCom\MMedit with 'Jim' changed to the current user name. I have just uploaded Version 1.0.2 which I think will fix your problem. I have also made some timing changes to make file transfers to the Maximite more reliable on slower PCs. It's difficult to test the program on different PC's and as a new user but I should make more effort to stop these problems.... Jim VK7JH MMedit MMBasic Help |
