(edit : snap - just saw larney's post (it took me an hour to finish my post between real day jobs!) Hi All, I purchased Altronics MM kit which came loaded with v2.1 - plus a SanDisk 4G card. I encountered probs with accessing and changing drives so immediately began trawling this excellent forum. Everything else worked well and I time warped back to my TRS80 days. I piffed the Sandisk 4G for a Lexor and upgraded to v2.7 giving me full functionality writing to card, however I lost my first column of display along the way ! ie PRINT "HELLO WORLD" delivers: ELLO WORLD (I'm sure if MM could speak it would also add "'ow's it goin' mate?") and LIST 80-120 delivers: 0 'line 80 0 'line 90 00 'line 100 10 'line 110 20 'line 120 etc All was as it should have been with my VGA display before the upgrade. I wonder if anyone could suggest what goofy thing I might have done along the way? Meanwhile all of my progs start at 10k so I know where I'm at! By the way, I'm planning on developing one of my MMs into a controller for a fully automated HERMS brewery - although I'm rapidly thinking I might like to further investigate the availability of more pins! (many thanks for a brilliant forum and it's an honour to be able to read the musings of some of the eminent names noted from SC over the years.) |

I had a similar problem when I initially connected my MM to a Dell flat screen. I had to reconfigure the Dell. |

I just tried an old 17" Polyview LCD with MM V2.7b, and it looks fine. This unit does have good adjustments, but not needed. Cheers Don... https://www.dontronics.com |

I've been contemplating a HERMS System with a Maximite heart/brain for a while. It would work a treat with plenty of I/O to spare. I'd like to know how it goes if you get around to it BudgeBrewer. I reckon a pint of Maximite Lager or Duinomite Pale Ale would go down very nicely indeed! I hope to try out an idea I have for multiple cheap and accurate temperature sensors because that, along with some pump control via relay is pretty much all you'd need for a sweet HERMS setup. |

Ah, thanks chaps. How strange - the monitor manual never exists beyond first powerup! (Perhaps "she" cleared it out with the monitor box trash) Good ole google, push the magic button on my AOC and we're fixed! Cracker, I certainly will provide progress reports on the HERMS in a suitable thread. The first brew will certainly be dedicated to MM - maybe a Geoffg's Golden Ale ? Presently I'm loooking at 3 pumps, and 10 valves (8 wort and two gas), 2 gas control lines, 3 temps or more plus volume monitoring, two more motors for stirring and...and...and...a few more than 20 pins... more later! |
