Notice. New forum software under development. It's going to miss a few functions and look a bit ugly for a while, but I'm working on it full time now as the old forum was too unstable. Couple days, all good. If you notice any issues, please contact me.

hey maximite experts

when i force halt my program during debug,
normal operation cannot be resumed until i cycle the power and reload

what is the preferred method to restore the maximite to a known state when debugging?

i think problem may be associated with an incomplete interrupt

this newbie would appreciate any assistance

maximite was procured from dontronics in august
it is marked sm1

i have done my edits using teraterm via usb on a windows computer
it seems to work nominally

i have not tried to update from the supplied 2.5 firmware

when my code is under test and it hangs the only way i can find to exit is ctrl/c

i have found that restarts after that go differently if i have recycled the power and reloaded

i thought that perhaps there was a better way to reset the card than ctrl/c because if i stop it during an interrupt routine it may get confused

i dont feel that i have hardware issues - just that i may be short on technique

I would recommend upgrading to the newest firmware.

A hardware reset to the SM1 can be done with CON3. Connect pins 1 and 3 with a momentary pushbutton. This will reset the PIC32.

the hardware reset functions as advertised but requires a software reload afterwards

the newer 2.7 firmware happily fixed my problem where it failed to restart (without a software reload) following a ctrl/c forced halt

thank you for your prompt interest

onwards and upwards ...
