Notice. New forum software under development. It's going to miss a few functions and look a bit ugly for a while, but I'm working on it full time now as the old forum was too unstable. Couple days, all good. If you notice any issues, please contact me.

I tried downloading from Geoff's project page several times. Download shows Install Doc, mchpcdc Security Doc and Setup info, nothing else.

There should be the following files in the zip archive:

* Installing the USB...PDF
* mchpcdc.cat
* mchpcdc.inf

The inf file is the driver file. Follow the instructions in the PDF and you should be right.

he`s just seeing icons not files ..needs to actully connect the maxi to the computer to let the computer see it then it should find new hard ware then it should start asking for files then select the directory where the files are it should have created a folder and you need to select that folder ...unless u let it lookfor its self and then at some stage through the driver instalation progres it will ask if the drivers are digitally signed ..."pick continue any way" then it should install and fianally hope fully be loaded ...go to the device manager and open the comports you should see that the driver is there and the maxi must or should be still connected to the pc it will prolly say its on com4 ....then you can start to communicate with it use hyper term and create a user name for the connection when prompted and pic a icon then ok it will now show another screen saying "connect to " only change the connection its the bottom option on this screen ..."change that to match what ever com port is selected by the device manager say com four ...you should se it in the lis select it click ok ..."" propities"" the only thing you should change is the "baud" rate it worked fine for me on 9600 but is capeable of 19200
hit ok and the screen should appear hit the space bar see if the cursor moves or if you actully see the bios startt up splash etc you should be connected....Edited by sparkey 2011-11-15

OK, I don't have my Maximite yet. Thought I'd get one step out of the way! I'll wait.

  elchucko said   I tried downloading from Geoff's project page several times. Download shows Install Doc, mchpcdc Security Doc and Setup info, nothing else.

Those are the three required files.

I recommend that you change your windows options to show file extensions for known file types.
