Notice. New forum software under development. It's going to miss a few functions and look a bit ugly for a while, but I'm working on it full time now as the old forum was too unstable. Couple days, all good. If you notice any issues, please contact me.

What do you want to do with it sparkey? Use it with the Maximite?

Then yes you could use it with the maximite for basic actions. You would need to set it up as a serial device, send commands to it from the Maximite, and read what it sends back. I think there is a basic terminal program for the Maximite here somewhere, that will get you started.

Modems use a special command set, Haynes I think it was called. Most commands start with AT. If you send "AT", short for attention, followed by a carrage return ( enter, or chr$(13) ), the modem will respond with a "OK". A command like ATDT 1234 will cause the modem to go off hook and dial 1234.

Look up modem AT commands on the internet.

Sparky, make sure you have a proper hardware modem. There are lots of softmodems that won't be as easy to use with the MM.
