Steve Jobs was just 56 years old, younger than some of us here (me included). A sad loss indeed. Regards, Bob Devries Dalby, QLD, Australia |

Your time is limited, so don't waste it living someone else's life. Don't be trapped by dogma - which is living with the results of other people's thinking. Don't let the noise of others' opinions drown out your own inner voice. And most important, have the courage to follow your heart and intuition. They somehow already know what you truly want to become. Everything else is secondary. —Steve Jobs, Stanford Commencement Speech, 2005 Micromites and Maximites! - Beginning Maximite |

That is sad news. Steve Jobs was one of the founders of our modern age, and inspired change, creative thinking and competition in the PC world. A great loss. Glenn The best time to plant a tree was twenty years ago, the second best time is right now. JAQ |

Sad sad day. He was one of my heros. As I type this on my iMac I will forever be thankful for what he did for the computer industry and all of us. Xerox PARC creations (GUI, Mouse, Ethernet, Laser Printer, etc) would probably never have been more than an memory if it wasn't for Steve Jobs. Picasso said Good artist copy, Great artists steal. Jobs admitted he was a great thief. Or to put it better we all stand on the shoulders of Giants before us. Steve Jobs was a Giant. www.elproducts.com |

I totally respect Steve Jobs and Steve Wozniak for the enormous contributions they've made to computing. Condolences to Steve's family & friends. If any of you get the chance pick up a copy of "Iwoz: How I Invented the Personal Computer and Had Fun Along the Way" by Steve Wozniak. Talks about the two of them tinkering away in their backshed (that sounds familiar!) building all sorts of gizmo's. They made something that interefered with TV transmissions over short distances. Steve W. used to crack-up with laughter at his college campus when students would be watching TV and he interfered with the reception from a safe distance, so as not to be noticed. The students would try holding the antenna in all sorts of different ways to get a good signal, but just when they thought it was ok, it would go crazy again. Those naughty chaps! rob |

Let's hope he succeeded in imprinting parts, if not all, of his vision about tomorrow computers to his team. Otherwise, we will really regret him. Not long ago I saw his "goodbye" movie and I knew he was close to a new trip beginning. There is a nice logo photo and an interesting movie. I'd also like to mention that Scottish folk musician Bert Jansch, founding member of the band Pentangle, passed on the same day. He was 67. unzip, strip, touch, finger, grep, mount, fsck, more, yes, fsck, fsck, fsck, umount, sleep |
