As I mentioned elsewhere on the forum, I've bought parts for the RTCC upgrade to the Dontronics SM-1 board. Since I'll have 9 sets of parts left over, these are up for grabs to the first 9 people who add their name below. Sparkey has first choice since he PMed me to ask first.
Included are the battery holder, CR2032 battery, clock chip, 32MHz watch crystal, 100nF cap, 10pF cap, 2 x 2k7 resistors and two SMD diodes. $7.50 a set including postage to your door.
Note that the SMD version of the battery holder is only available in 200-off lots so I bought the through-hole version. Should be adaptable with a big enough hammer.
Parts are all on order and expected in 2 weeks.
Rob

Two down, seven to go!
I don't expect payment until I have the parts and ready to ship. Will announce that here when ready.
Oh yeah, and that crystal is 32kHz, not 32MHz. D'oh!

Now have batteries, battery holders, realtime clock ICs and 32kHz xtals in hand. Shouldn't be much longer.

I've decided to keep a set of parts to use for my second handmade Maximite, so there's one set left.

Last one goes to Sparkey, he just upped the order to two units. Now we just have to get all the bits together!

Update: Just had the sudden realization last night that someone is going to have to write a driver to make this work. Looks like I have another little job to do. :-S

All parts are now here and I'm ready to ship. My email address for Paypal is:
judd AT ob-wan DOT com
If anyone has had second thoughts about their ability to solder 0603 SMD parts and wants to change their mind, no hard feelings. I did mine today and it came out pretty good, but then again I've also done rework and repairs on the end of an SMD assembly line in the last few years.
I will be including a sheet showing exact parts layout, and also PMing each of you individually to alert that parts are ready. As detailed earlier $7.50 per set, and I'll make it $14.00 for two sets shipped together.

For those who are about to receive parts kits:
The 10pF capacitor is marked with a black texta so you can tell which one it is. They looked so similar to the 100nF caps that I had to distinguish it somehow.
Cheers,
Rob

Hi Frank,
It's on Don's website as I recall. One thing I found was there was way too much solder on the pads. Clean most of it off with soderwick, tag one end with the iron then solder the other end, and finally go back and fully solder the first end. You'll need tweezers, a clean bench and a maggy lamp, at least if your eyes are as bad as mine.
Good luck, and don't drop the little buggers!

Oh yeah, and if you go back one page there's a layout of the parts on this thread that I posted a few days ago, just in case you happened to miss it.
