neither of those look right to me. Unless I mis-read them, Data sheets show the conencions at the rear not internally.

Yes, big problem.

I have looked through Farnell and RS data sheets and can't find that part or similar. Jaycar don't have it. Altronics don't have them either. Saving them for kits i guess.

Hi John.

Whilst I hope that they will have stock, I notice that the part number is the same as the Altronics part number. And the store web site seems to imply that they request the parts from their wholesalers and then send them on.

I am guessing that the Altronics wholesale arm would be the supplier in this case and therefore we may suffer the same delays.....

I also noticed that the store is located in Croydon Nth Victoria, so I may give them a call tomorrow to find out the stock status.

I have previously tried to get this particular SD card direct from the manufacturers distributor, and also tried the free sample path, but have had no luck.

If these are the correct type required for the Maximite V2 design from Geoff Graham, I'll take 2.
But looking at the specs it may not be!Edited by VK6MRG 2011-07-25

There is an alternative Maximite planned but it is very early days and the type of socket is not fixed. Also this design will not replace the original Maximite - it will supplement it.

This illustrates the problem with CD sockets... there seems to be a lot of variants. When I designed the Maximite I went for the Oupiin socket (from Altronics) as they were the only ones easily available from a retail outlet. Now that Altronics cannot supply I am not sure what to do in any future designs...

Hi Geoff,

Parts are a big problem. I would tend to at least dual footprint the Altronics and Jaycar ones. Maybe even a Farnell type also

The power switch and DE15 fall into same category too. The one specified is a wide spaced type. The narrow ones seem to be easier to get.

Just build the UBW one - and fudge all the hardware :-).

I must admit, the PCB built Maximite does look a tad better!

Hi All.

My backorder with Altronics (dated 28/6) for some SD card sockets was filled today and should arrive tomorrow. So hopefully their warehouse now has a large stock and supply the stores, internet orders etc.

How do you check backordered items at Altronics?

Their website doesn't seem to show backorders only what was originally ordered.
