Don, where are you getting the SD card holders from?

Altronics are out of stock im Melb. and list low stocks on web page. Staff seem unhelpful in getting them into store. The DE15 is another problem. The specified one has wide spaced pins. No stock. We did manage to fit the more common narrow spaced pin type, by bending the pins ouwarsd though.

Not trying to tell you what to do for a PCB, but I would try to add provision for alternate components where possible, if a blank pcb is to be sold. The SD card holder seems to be a case in point. Possibly the DE15 and power switch too.

I got 5 PCB's from Ben and we can't finish them, because of the SD card holder problem. Farnell list a swag of them but nothing i can find that's the same footprint. Jaycar have a plastic one and won't fit. Most of them seem to have connections at the rear, while the specified one has some internally.

Hi Glenn,

The Maximite SM1 is not my design. It was done by Richard from tctech, so I don't know where he gets his stock from.

And Sorry, I have no control over alternative components, or anything else, as it is Richard's design.

Cheers Don...

The 20 that are coming this week, may arrive tomorrow, or they may arrive Monday.

Sorry folks, yes they are coming. When they do, I will put a notice on the product page.

OK, great Sparkey.

That is the only trouble with the microSD card, you are still paying a premium price for them.

I figure op shops should be giving away older low capacity standard SD cards for about $1 a wheel barrow load.

Which is about the same price as a mains to USB +5V power supply from China.
Including postage of course.

29-July-2011 Update: 18 boards are being shipped overnight to me today, which means I won't get them until Monday. We hope to be able to ship these first 18 on Tuesday. We are also hoping for another 82 next week. I will keep the page below fully updated on any new information.

One day in the future, there will always be stock. I just don't know when that day will come.

The 18 came in today, shipping tomorrow, and we actually ended up with three spare.
Several going to Europe, and the U.S.

See:

Hopefully we get another 82 this week.
