Notice. New forum software under development. It's going to miss a few functions and look a bit ugly for a while, but I'm working on it full time now as the old forum was too unstable. Couple days, all good. If you notice any issues, please contact me.

I feel with the recent I2C news, that it is just a few weeks away, and serial comms close by, the Maximite will start to come into it's own, as a very serious MicroComputer, or MicroContoller, depending on your terminology, and thought process. The applications will really start to come out of the wood work, as users get more involved with actual hardware real world projects. I hope my Maximite to Arduino shield converter board is only going to take another week to appear. This is "The DonDuino Cross". I spent a couple of hours on a project with Mick yesterday, all via email. I had an idea. We pushed it around. He designed the board artwork. And we should end up with a simple, low cost, Arduino shield addressing patch panel, that uses shunts and jumpers to cross configure all Maximite signals that drop into the Arduino shield format. I have hunted the web, and found nothing even close to what we can achieve with "The DonDuino Patch". This isn't just for Maximite, it is also a new Arduino Shield product. Hi Sparkey, I have mentioned the URLs many times, but here they are again: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Arduino and mine: http://www.dontronics-shop.com/the-donduino-cross.html http://www.themaximitecomputer.com/the-donduino-cross/ Also Cap'n Bill and Chuck spent the best part of a week in a thread, convincing me that the Arduino shield was the best way to go. They gave me all the data I needed to go ahead. I can't find the lengthy thread just now. Cheers Don... https://www.dontronics.com |

Is nice to grow up with the Arduino board and it's factory form. After that(growing up), you will find Boarduino and Pinguino(breadboard version) concept much more superior to Arduino sandwich. For both learning and final product boards. One big reason is that your shield for such a board become in fact the motherboard which host your little microcontroller board and, that motherboard can have any size and shape you want. And your microcontroller board remains fully reachable, no need to duplicate the reset buttons and test LEDs. And you can use protoboards, veroboards and perfboards or whatever they are called.
