Notice. New forum software under development. It's going to miss a few functions and look a bit ugly for a while, but I'm working on it full time now as the old forum was too unstable. Couple days, all good. If you notice any issues, please contact me.

NO Pin(1) is pin 6 on the IDC Connector Or to say it in my preferred language I/O Channel 1 is on IDC pin 6 Remember to ignore the pin numbering on the right angle IDC connector, it is wrong. go from the circuit diagram. The picture in the user manual is of the backwards right angle connector. Cheers Rohan Rohan Hamer HAMFIELD Software & Hardware Solutions Makers of the Maximite Expander. http://www.hamfield.com.au |

Alternately, look at the pin-holes in the cable connector [ie cable pointing away from you, connector facing you]. Then the diagram is correct. James My mind is aglow with whirling, transient nodes of thought careening through a cosmic vapor of invention. Hedley Lamarr, Blazing Saddles (1974) |

If the Silicon Chip schematic (fig.1) on page 33 of the March 2011 edition is correct then I would would go so far as to say PIC32 pin 12 is I/O 1 connected to IDC 6 and which is labeled as pin 1 on the IDC drawing when looking at the back of the Maximite Has anyone found any problems with this drawing (unlike the discussion elsewhere on the forum which is a tad confusing) on the IDC pinout drawing which is supposed to have errors. I can't see any problems except that it doesn't conform to a standard. regards Keith The more we know, the more we know we don't know ! |

Yeah, the 3.3 & 5 v pins are reversed on that diagram. Regards Rohan Rohan Hamer HAMFIELD Software & Hardware Solutions Makers of the Maximite Expander. http://www.hamfield.com.au |

Don't use the Silicon Chip diagram, go to Geoff's Maximite page and use that one. The SC diagram has quite a few errors... - Rob. For crying out loud, all I wanted to do was flash this blasted LED. |
