G'day All, I've got my Maximite up and running and all seems well until I try to save. I get the message "Error accessing the SD card". I have checked the format using a laptop FAT32, I have checked soldering etc. Any suggestions! Thanks in advance. Tim. |

Are you getting this error on boot-up, or just when you try to save a file? Have you checked the write protect switch? Regards, Bob Devries Dalby, QLD, Australia |

I'm seeing the same thing on my board with a SanDisk SDHC 4GB card. Write protect is in the unlock position. I can read and write to it on my PC. www.elproducts.com |

I don't know if this is coincidental but I am also using a 4GB SanDisk card Tim. |

It would seem that all SDHC cards are not created equal. For interest sake, how are the mis-behaving ones formatted? I have a Verbatim 4GB card formatted FAT32, which works fine. It seems a little slower to access than the Verbatim 2GB SD card I also have. Regards, Bob Devries Dalby, QLD, Australia |

I was thinking along the same lines Bob. I might try another card that I have at home and see if I get a different result .... but that wont be until later tonight. Tim. |

Sorry, just posted this to the wrong thread. :-( There is a list of compatible Cards at: http://www.themaximitecomputer.com/maximite-control/ And I am updating this list when I get new information, so please let me know if you have a different experience to the ones that are listed. Cheers Don... https://www.dontronics.com |

If you are powering it from USB, try the DC input plug with a 6 to 13VDC plug pack instead. See if that does anything different. Cheers Don... https://www.dontronics.com |

hmm, this may seem an obvious question, but I'll ask it anyhow.... Can you read files from the SD card? Do you get an error if you use the FILES command? Regards, Bob Devries Dalby, QLD, Australia |

Here is an old friend of mine, and he has uSD cards on some of his products. http://4d.websitetoolbox.com/post?id=5149940 might be some tips there to help. Cheers Don... https://www.dontronics.com |

Bob, Thanks for asking that one because I haven't tried to read the card as there were no files to read. I'll try that one but it will have to wait because the LCD monitor I have been using has become a bit contankerous and now says "cannot display this video mode" even though It was working nicely previously. Arghhhh! I have a CRT monitor at another location that I will try later today. Don, I did the age poll a few days ago .... I'm one of the 1972 PMG intake. Tim. |

Thanks Tim. I saw your profile before I said that. :-) And have a look at: http://www.themaximitecomputer.com/maximite-control/ You may need an extra 22uf capacitor on the 3.3V rail. Detailed at: http://www.themaximitecomputer.com/maximite-sm1-prototypes/ for our MM-SM1 version, but the same may apply to your circuit. Cheers Don... https://www.dontronics.com |

Thanks for everyone's thoughts, I have sorted out the monitor problems ...... it seems the Dell monitor doesn't like working with Jumper 2 "select composite" inserted. I tried the Files command and got the same response 'Error accessing the SD card' Bob, my intake was at Berry St North Sydney. Tim. |

Success! I arrived home and located a 128M sanDisk card ex digital camera and I can save files to it. So what can I conclude? Maximite is OK and will write to SD cards. Wont write to 4GB SanDisk in my case and one other case mentioned in this thread. Maybe Don can add the 4GB SanDisk to his list of 'No-goers' |
