Notice. New forum software under development. It's going to miss a few functions and look a bit ugly for a while, but I'm working on it full time now as the old forum was too unstable. Couple days, all good. If you notice any issues, please contact me.

I think I'll wait for the Chinese clones on AliExpress. :) Nice board and, unusually, isn't priced only for major educational institutions. Probably because there's nothing to run on it yet. :) Mick Zilog Inside! nascom.info for Nascom & Gemini Preliminary MMBasic docs & my PCB designs |

Well they are in stock and I got me one... basically an early Christmas present to myself At first glimpse : Looks good, 4(+1) 64 bit 600 MHz processors with single and double precision FPU's, lots of memory, connectivity etc. Appears to optionally run Ubunto or a variant, SD card socket as per embedded Linux. Would make a good workstation I think. Not much documentation upfront. Uses Linux or Windows host for dev IDE , that is Visual Studio [ed] with JTAG via USB. Looks like installation is significant, so that is a future task as yet . The blurb says there is an ascii Space Invaders example app as part of the install so I will be aiming to play that in a while I see there is now a new pic64HX family "post quantum security " announced with eight+1 processors, available 2025 sometime !! Maybe a wait yet. Edited 2024-11-13 15:14 by zeitfest |

Of course, you can play with RISC-V on the cheap using the RP2350. :) Mick Zilog Inside! nascom.info for Nascom & Gemini Preliminary MMBasic docs & my PCB designs |

Happy new chip Think I'll hold-off until matherp has all four cores running MMBasic. Hey, we're allowed to dream, aren't we? |

Dream on... The RP2350 has two "CPU sockets" and you choose which of the four available cores are "plugged in". It's not possible to run all four cores as only two can be accessible. I like your dream though. :) Mick Zilog Inside! nascom.info for Nascom & Gemini Preliminary MMBasic docs & my PCB designs |

The dream was bigger than that; I was referring to the new 4-core Microchip |

I did wonder... :) If you are *very* lucky it'll be a case of "Send me one and I'll see if it's possible" lol An outright "No" is probably much more likely :) Mick Zilog Inside! nascom.info for Nascom & Gemini Preliminary MMBasic docs & my PCB designs |

Bill of Materials required for World Domination: 1) PicoMite ✓ 2) ARMMiteH7 ✓ 3) CMM2 ✓ Think I'm all set, actually |

What? You've not run SPI between two (or more) CMM2s? hehe... The Picomite Pear could be upgraded for Pico 2s, I suppose.... :) Mick Zilog Inside! nascom.info for Nascom & Gemini Preliminary MMBasic docs & my PCB designs |
