Notice. New forum software under development. It's going to miss a few functions and look a bit ugly for a while, but I'm working on it full time now as the old forum was too unstable. Couple days, all good. If you notice any issues, please contact me.

Lads,

OK, I only had one byte (sorry HITSWARE)

It is of course an APRIL FOOLS joke.. I put a winking emoticon there as a hint.

An Intel NUC with 18 USB3 ports and 6 USB2 ports and a slot Bluray writer in a box about the size of a hard drive??? Yeah I would like to see that...

I am not sure if you have this in the USA but every April 1st we (In Aus at least) try to trick our friends and family (but it has to be done before noon)

Regards,

Mick

I was beginning to wonder myself, on that thing.
Here in NZ, we have April Fools day, but honestly - I did not think of it as being an April Fools day joke!

EDIT: ...and my 1000th post!!!! Yay!Edited by Grogster 2014-04-03

Do they have April Fools day in Germany?
It quite possible makes no sense to you, if you don't observed that particular day, where we purposely try to trick each other over what is a true thing, or something totally made up.

Lads,

Salesmart, run by a friend of mine, has chaged the page now.. It showed a picture of an INTEL NUC similar to what is shown there now but had a dvd slot and 12 usb3 sockets...
with description saying another 12 usb on the back...

Not only impractible but would need a 500w supply to run them all.

Pretty Obvious it was a joke but if the original (April fools joke, obviously) page has now been pulled and replaced with his correct page, the joke would be lost to you, unless you saw the original one... I will try to get the original picture off him to repost it here..

Regards

Mick

What are all you blokes going to do when Geoff decides that he wants to change all the PIN configurations around in the production release?

He might even swap GND and 3v3 around..

I will begin a 'Kick Starter' for a PCB with 'flexible' tracks then you can put the tracks to whatever pins you like .

The universal TQFP PCB - that is 'The Quad Flexible PCB' - Problem solved

Only another 364 days to go . . . .

Does anyone remember the April Fools day stories that This Day Tonight used to run? My favourite was the story about Telstra blowing dust out of the phone lines to improve the telephone sound quality. Straight faced and almost believable.
My mind is aglow with whirling, transient nodes of thought careening through a cosmic vapor of invention.

It looked like that one was made to order ...
