I would like to transfer programmes to and from Tera Term and the parent PC. I am using TT with uMite. I can copy and paste from Tera Term to a text file on the PC and I can copy from the PC text file and it shows up ok on the Tera Term clipboard but when I paste, I get a rubbishy version of what is on the clip board. TT help doesn't help much. Can I in fact do this or what am I doing wrong? edit update: If I put the uMite into "edit" mode and set the comm port transmit delay to say 80, I get a clean copy which will run ok. But I could just about type faster than the transfer rate. Is the slowness due to transferring the data to the uMite flash? David M. |

Start by trying with a small selection of text. Paste uses Alt_V instead of the usual Ctrl_V The right mouse button also pastes immediately unless you have disabled that in Setup/Additional settings/Copy and Paste. I use MMedit so I have little experience with pasting full programs using TT. Jim Edit: under the above settings, you can set the LINE delay which should help. VK7JH MMedit MMBasic Help |

Would using xmodem not be better (and easier) to transfer programs? Microblocks. Build with logic. |

Quite likely. The last time I used Christensen protocol was with the Micro Professor and an 8" floppy based cpM machine(a lifetime ago). Any pointers on, say, writing a programme to a text file and then transferring it to Tera Term? David M. |

The uMite has XMODEM command to send and receive programs. Also an AUTOSAVE command to stream text to the uMite. Would those not work? If i misunderstand the goal maybe an example can clear that up. Microblocks. Build with logic. |

I can make autosave work using cut and paste from a text file but xmodem is causing me a little grief. It is too late at night I think and I'm too tired - tomorrow I try again. David M. |

Further to above, I have been lucky to get anything working properly. I had a wobbly connection in the cheap Chinese serial cable. All is doing what it is supposed to and files transfer both ways happily. David M. |
