Hi, I have an Olimex Duinomite mini, running mmbasic V4.1. Using the inbuilt VGA connection, I see an output on the screen, but it is too wide, (or left shifted), the ">" prompt is hidden, as is half the first words on each line. It is just usable, but it is ugly. I have tried the Duinomite on two monitors which I own, with the same results. Neither monitor has any manual VGA setup, width etc, just an "auto" setup, which if I perform it, makes no difference. Is there any setup for the VGA in mmbasic? I cannot see anything in the manual, but I could have missed it? Alternatively is there any H/W tweek which would help? I have posted this in the Olimex forum but have had no replies. Thanks in advance for any help. P |

i had the same problem too with an olimex duinomite mega, however i could adjust the screen size/position whith the monitor controls, i tried various maximite/maximite colours on various monitors, as i know all monitors have settings to manual adjust the image.. the only problems i have are on a 8.4" 4:3 GDS monitor, it display the screen for about 1 sec.. then the image fade to white first, then it fade to black leaving random coloured pixels on screen.. i do not know what's wrong but it's like it doesn't hook the vsync, that monitor probably need inverted sync signal, but it too have controls to adjust image.. i suggest you to carefully look through the menu options of monitor, may you tell us wich type of monitor you use? maybe we can help better |

Hi Superpat, It is not only the Duinomite, the original mono Maximite has the same issue. I believe it is to do with the timings and the way video is generated using SPI. We are lucky that we are able to get video as this is really an ingenious method of video generation. I have never yet seen a VGA monitor that cant be adjusted to get the text to the right a bit more. Regards, mick Mick's uMite Stuff can be found >>> HERE (Kindly hosted by Dontronics) <<< |

Try filling up the whole screen with characters or a filled white rectangle then try Auto-Adjust on your monitor again. |
