Notice. New forum software under development. It's going to miss a few functions and look a bit ugly for a while, but I'm working on it full time now as the old forum was too unstable. Couple days, all good. If you notice any issues, please contact me.

Yeah I'm aware of it, and I got the message sent to me too. I guess he's sent the same message to as many members as he could. In reality Max99 hasn't done anything wrong, its OK for a member to send other members messages asking them to visit another web site. Forum etiquette is a bit lacking though, it would be better to post the message on the public forum instead of sending private messages to everyone. Hopefully Max is listening. Ideally a new forum member should contribute more to the public discussions before posting private messages. I will look into modifying the forum software to stop this sort or activity in the future, something like a new member cant post private messages until they have posted several public posts. I got one too a week or so ago - I ignored it as spam. BTW - this forum seems very free of spam - is it because you have to activate the account via Gizmo? Automatic registrations are not accepted, in other words. I noticed that when I signed up, I had to wait till Gizmo activated the account(which was not long at all), then I could post messages. Spam-bot checking going on there first? Smoke makes things work. When the smoke gets out, it stops! |

I basically got the same email on two occasions, and politely told him I felt there wasn't room for another Forum. I talked Ken Segler into dropping all MaxiMite-DuinoMite support on his forum at: http://www.kenseglerdesigns.com/cms/forums/index.php I just checked this site and found there is actually a new message, the first for about 6 months. I also set up a MaxiMite-DuinoMite support group on my support forum at: http://dontronics.websitetoolbox.com/ and locked the appropriate forums. I did this to have a backup when The Back Shed was going through a rocky time, and a new forum may have needed to be created. However I never had to use it and I believe this TBS forum is ticking along nicely now, and covers all aspects of MaxiMite-DuinoMite activity. When Olimex opened up their new web site, they also created their own forum for DuinoMite at: https://www.olimex.com/forum/index.php?board=9.0 I had hoped the European community would self support this new Olimex forum, but as it hasn't had strong input, I haven't joined up, as I feel I would end up answering a big percentage of questions myself. It appears that many of these users have joined our little group here, and that is the advise I am passing on these days. Bottom line. TBS forum is all that is needed, and I'll continue to chase users across here. Don... https://www.dontronics.com |

I have just spent over 1 hour talking to warren on the phone and convinced him that TBS is the way to go. Plus I use a domain forum a fair bit and they have 1 rule Promote any site EXCEPT another Domain Forum. VK4MU MicroController Units |
