Where would one look for a display (VGA or Composite) of around 2 inches that would suit the ColorMM? I might go have a look around Ebay while I am waiting for some suggestions. Don't poo poo conspiracy theories. Remember that everything ever discovered started somewhere as a theory. |

Hi Peter, Out of curiosity, what is you application that needs a display this small? Seems to me that it would be almost unreadably small I use a 7" vga display for my caravan battery monitor program and with my (old) eyes that is unreadable from more than a couple of meters. Perhaps a 2 or 4 line lcd might do the job for you and be cheaper? Just an idea and not to reflect on yor choice. Cheers, Doug. ... almost all of the Maximites, the MicromMites, the MM Extremes, the ArmMites, the PicoMite and loving it! |

i use a 7" vga monitor too, however i've to use it in mode 4 because the characters displayed in mode 1-3 are too small :) and the monitor resolution itself should be 480x240 pixels |

I had a portable battery-powered TV that I got for about $50 years ago. This was before the U.S. switched to digital. It was hand-held and had an LCD display about that size. This is one: http://www.ebay.com/itm/Casio-TV-980-2-3-LCD-Color-handheld- Television-/200890915806?pt=Televisions&hash=item2ec6081bde It was useless with the new digital signals, though. Internally there is a place where you can feed it composite video. (This one NTSC) Micromites and Maximites! - Beginning Maximite |

The story is that I need a rather small display. It appears that a GLCD would be the most logical way to go, but just can't begin to imagine that I am capable of making aGLCD working with a CMM. It looks hard enough getting a character LCD to work. I still intend working with PBP which already has CLCD handling very easily. Just can't wait for PBP to include GLCD commands as well. Something like this works great on composite. http://www.ebay.com/itm/New3-5-LCD-4-3-Monitor-Screen-Rear-V iew-Reverse-Backup-Car-Mirror-Video-Monitor-/360583980560?pt =US_Car_Monitors_w_o_Player&hash=item53f47ae610 I have a few similar to those. 2" is very difficult to find. There are a few LCD glass only but that would need a lot of work with controllers and programming. Maybe some Nokia LCD replacement part, a few arduino projects use them, if i remember correctly it was using I2C or SPI to write data to the screen. My search is for a small converter schematic to have color composite. Not successful yet. Microblocks. Build with logic. |

have a look here. These are for car videos, most have AV inputs and come in size 3.5in upwards. Bill In the interests of the environment, this post has been constructed entirely from recycled electrons. |

Peter, The very commonly available Nokia 5110 graphics LCD display is available on eBay etc for only $3 or $4 and the size on the usual PCB module it comes on (with backlighting) is 45x40mm. It's SPI driven and displays 6 rows of 14 characters but unfortunately is monochrome (how else at $4!). John Gerrard (JMAN) wrote some MMBasic software for it. Nokia 5110 I've got an MMBasic program (originally based on John's routines) running on a project here showing time automatically updating on the top line and keypad editable data input lines below. There's a lot of stuff on the net about the 5110, including a "how to" on Sparkfun. Some is under "Nokia 3110" which apparently was an earlier version of the phone it came on but the software driving it is apparently the same. Greg |

The 3.5 inch ones are available for only 18$ from TOMTOP (Chinese eBay vendor) postage to aussie included. They work excellent on the MM/DM computers. VK4MU MicroController Units |

Do you have a link for them David? I had a look at their site and the $19 ones were not available for shipping to Australia but they did have a $33 one with free shipping. Greg |
